A Sweet Thank You

A Sweet Thank You Teaser
Red Velvet Cupcake for Souvenir
Baptism is the first sacrament of our Christian Life and it is an important event to our very own journeys. A Precious Little Girl, Jaz, is blessed to have Mama, Dada and kuya in her life. She is also a blessing to them. May God bestow love, faith and strength to their family as challenges will come in their lives. Welcome to the Christian World Baby Jaz!

Welcome To The Christian World - Baptismal Celebration

Her mom is my cousin. They invited us to join Jaz's Baptismal Celebration last June 3, 2012. Later, I will post what happened in the Christening.

How did I end up with the title "A Sweet Thank You?"

Her Ninang Iya (My sister) decided to make cupcakes for her. She offered fifty (50) cupcakes that will serve as souvenirs for their  visitors. A sweet thank you from Baby Jaz's Family for their visitors who used their spare time welcoming Jaz in the Christian World.

I think this made my sister feel inspired and motivated. Seeing people eating what you baked and looking at their smiles and hearing it's yummy? Priceless.

It's also about getting critics from the community. What does it tastes like and what are the ways to improve the quality and taste of it? It's also a bit of self-promotion. Those positive insights will definitely lead to my sister's success. In events, people can easily REACH your product and recommend it right away. So when you have the chance, grab it and make the best out of you.

Now, let's take a look how we made these souvenirs...

Baking Red Velvet Cupcakes

It looks a little too red when mixing it into the bowl. Here is a picture the Red Velvet Cupcake before putting it into the oven. Each cup has two scoops of it...

It looks yummy even before putting it in the oven! It's like a glittery stuff that you can eat haha.

The cake part taste like a plain chocolate cake but the chocolate cake is much sweeter than this. My brother's girlfriend said that the first batch of cupcakes were too moist. My sister put the next batch in the oven for about thirty (30) minutes (longer than the previous batch) and tadaaah! Tastes good! I also like the inner part wherein the cupcake is soft and taste perfectly done.

Plain Red Velvet Cupcakes (without icing)

The icing suits perfectly with the taste of the cupcake. I also like it when the icing is not too cold. It is topped with cocoa powder and garnished with small bead candies. I have three words for this Red Velvet Cupcake. Simple yet elegant.

Making The Red Velvet Icing

For the packaging, we bought an acetate semi-dome box and a pink lace ribbon from Divisoria (A place where wholesale products are being sold - Manila Area). Me, my cousin, my brother and her girlfriend helped my sister with the packaging. They also printed out small stickers saying "Thank you for coming! -Jaz" with a picture of Jaz in the left.

We had fun but it's very tiring too... By the way, the cupcake liner looks beautiful but when the cupcake was already done...

The color of the cupcake become more powerful than the design. I thought the design would be visible even though the cupcakes are colored Dark Red. Anyway, not bad after all.
